Appearance – Elements

Admin Level Only. If you are an Editor, you won’t see this option.

The Element area of the main site.

The Elements area in the Appearance section contains six reusable design elements that are used on various pages on the site. 

  • (Elements #1-4) Four Feature Image elements are used as featured images to anchor the following sections of the site:
    • The History Page (white house with fence)
    • The Events and News Page (museum sign)
    • The Join Page (students & teacher)
    • The About Page (panoramic scene)
  • These four feature elements can be used on any page you create or choose. All you do is choose to Edit one of the elements. Then:
    • Go to the Location Panel
    • Select “Add Location Rule”
    • From the dropdown directly above the button, select and choose “Page”
    • In the box to the right, select the page to which you wish to apply the element
    • Update the page
    • And that’s it
  • (Element #5) The Footer element is the blue “Fat Footer.” It is assigned to every page on the site. Should you wish to exclude a page, you can do that here. 
    • If you need to change any of the information on the footer, just do the updates as you would any other page and hit update.
    • That’s it.
  • (Element #6) The Top Nav element is the stripe that appears on the top of pages. 
    • This is simply a container box with a top border size of 15 pix and a border color as the global color dijon-ochre on the main site and peanut-brown on this site.
